Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has sanctioned the assignment of 38 Commissioners of Police to different state commands and police formations throughout the nation.
This tactical initiative, designed to boost security measures and intelligence-driven law enforcement, involves deploying nine Critical Personnel to state headquarters and twenty-nine Critical Personnel to different units.
The officers appointed to lead state commands include CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba (Zamfara), CP Bretet Emmanuel Simon (Taraba), CP Christopher Ado Emmanuel (Yobe), CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin (Cross River), CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman (Niger), CP Sani Omolori Aliyu (Bauchi), CP Bello Shehu (Katsina), CP Saka Adewale Ajao (Federal Capital Territory), and CP Ojo Adekimi (Kwara).
On Friday, the Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, stated that deploying 29 CPs across different police units forms part of comprehensive initiatives aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness, addressing security issues, and fostering a more reactive and community-focused method of law enforcement.
He stated, "Alongside these State Command positions, the assignment encompasses deploying 29 Community Policing officers to different law enforcement units as part of an extensive initiative aimed at tackling increasing security issues and providing responsive policing that meets community demands. These officers will focus on developing customized approaches for each unit they join, guaranteeing that the policing methods are not only forward-thinking but also efficient."
Adejobi stated that the IGP instructed the recently assigned CPs to focus on intelligence-driven policing, address security issues, and maintain high ethical standards in performing their responsibilities.
