Shock 2028 Poll: Democrats Seen as Their Own Worst Enemy

She lost the White House In a decisive victory, burned through a billion-dollar campaign fund, leaving her party stunned, but Kamala Harris is back on top.

In less than four months following a embarrassing loss, Donald Trump where she lost both the popular vote and the Electoral College, as well as every individual state swing state , according to a recent survey, former Vice President Kamala Harris is the Democratic Party 's  undisputed frontrunner.

Few could have anticipated this shift following the events of 2024, but Harris now holds a substantial lead in the early stages of the 2028 Democratic primary race, with a significant 26-point advantage, as indicated by recent polls. Morning Consult poll.

The statistics are clear: 36 percent of Democratic and lean-Democratic voters wish for Kamala Harris to be at the head of their party’s ticket once more.

The former Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, secures third place with just 10 percent of the vote.

Since her loss in November, Harris has rarely appeared in public. However, should we trust the survey’s conclusions, it appears that the Democrats remain unclear about their missteps and have yet to come up with viable solutions.

Initially seen as the rising star of the Democratic Party, Harris witnessed her 2024 presidential campaign crumble swiftly as Trump surged back into the presidency.

Even though she raised nearly $1.8 billion — a staggering amount that exceeded that of her predecessor — Joe Biden 's haul - Harris failed to convert the money into momentum or any meaningful support in the crucial battleground states.

Months after her defeat created a political void that remains unfilled due to the lack of a strong competitor. The Democrats seem wounded and lacking direction during this time.

Following Harris in the polls is a roster of possible Democratic contenders, yet apart from Buttigieg, none have surpassed 10% support.

California Governor Gavin Newsom, who is often considered a likely heir to the leadership of his party, finds himself in a three-way deadlock with only 5% support. He shares this position with progressive representative Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota and also Harris’ potential running mate for 2024.

Television tycoon Mark Cuban, who has previously considered entering the race, garnered 4% support, tying with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, reportedly one of the top contenders for Harris' 2024 vice-presidential pick.

Following Shapiro, the figures drop significantly with Senator Cory Booker holding steady at 3 percent, and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, along with Senator Amy Klobuchar, all clustering around 2 percent.

Last week, Politico Rahm Emanuel, who served as White House chief of staff under President Barack Obama, is reportedly contemplating a run for office.

According to the poll, only 1 percent of possible Democratic primary voters would back him currently, whereas 44 percent of Democrats stated they had never even heard of him.

Harris' comeback has occurred without a single campaign visit, fundraising message, or public declaration.

Reports indicate that the ex-VP could potentially be thinking about running for California governor in 2026 to follow a term-limited Newsom.
