Su Metro Limited has complied with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) requirement by submitting its fleet for examination.
A video viewed by the Star showed the firm delivering its fleet at the Likoni Road vehicle inspection center in Nairobi’s industrial zone on Saturday morning.
The procedure, monitored by NTSA officials, was designed to guarantee that the vehicles comply with all safety and operational requirements prior to the company being permitted to restart full operations.
In order to get its operating license renewed, the company needed to resolve all regulatory problems. This included making sure that 294 marked vehicles received the required inspections along with speed limiter tests.
Furthermore, it was requested to bring forward 42 drivers from among the 109 cited for repeated speeding offenses for a retesting session at the Likoni Driver Test Centre.
It was also requested to remove unqualified drivers right away.
On Thursday, the authorities revoked the company's operational permit because it had violated several Public Service Vehicle (PSV) rules.
NTSA stated that the measure was essential for maintaining road safety and adhering to regulations.
"The Authority has revoked Super Metro Limited’s operating license until the company adheres completely to the Public Service Vehicles Regulations, 2014, along with fulfilling all specified requirements," according to an announcement made by NTSA.
The agency additionally revealed that 64 Super Metro drivers did not pass a retest on March 10, 2025, which resulted in the suspension of their individual licenses.
