The Chancellor of Trinity University in Yaba, Lagos, Prince Samuel Adedoyin, has encouraged newly graduated students not to lose hope in their nation. Instead, he advised them to view themselves as essential agents of change needed for Nigeria to reach its promising future.
Adedoyin encouraged the new graduates to look up to other unstoppable young Nigerians who haven’t been defeated by the nation’s difficulties and are achieving significant success in technology on an international level.
The distinguished industrialist, turning 89 in December, offered this counsel on Friday during Trinity University’s third convocation ceremony. At this event, 122 students received their degrees, including 28 who achieved first-class honors across various disciplines.
While expressing confidence in the future of Nigeria and the youths, the varsity chancellor said, “I urge you to remember that Nigeria’s future is bright and that the possibilities are endless. Young Nigerians are making waves globally, achieving feats that inspire and motivate us. From innovative tech startups to groundbreaking scientific discoveries, our youth are proving that they have what it takes to succeed on the world stage.
You should keep moving forward with this path, showcasing both your family heritage and the prestige of your university. I urge you all to become the changemakers, leaders, and innovators that Nigeria requires.
Don't let the difficulties our country faces discourage you; rather, view them as chances to create an impact. Trinity University has equipped you with the groundwork. With your abilities, understanding, and zeal, you can propel meaningful changes and bring about a difference.
During the commencement ceremony, the university awarded an honorary doctoral degree in business and management to Dipo Ajayi, who serves as the President of the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria.
Prof. Clement Kolawole, the Vice-Chancellor, stated that Ajayi received this recognition due to his dedication to humanitarian work and his steadfast commitment to professional standards.
He emphasized that the university recognized the significance of collaborating with Ajayi and encouraged him to utilize his extensive expertise for enhancing the institution’s quality.

The president of ARCON launched a scholarship program aimed at supporting exceptional first-year nursing students at the institution, in tribute to his spouse. He also pledged ongoing backing for the institution as part of this commitment.
"I'm thrilled to take this chance to introduce the Sir Architect Dipo Ajayi Scholarship for Nursing. This scholarship will be awarded annually to incoming freshmen. While the specific details and monetary value will be disclosed shortly, it’s worth noting that the scholarship program will begin in the upcoming academic term, starting with the student who achieves the highest score during their first year," he stated.
